Reading Obituaries

I am one with Tom Lehrer in his admiration of obituaries. See his song about Alma Werfel that I have linked here. http://members.aol.com/quentncree/lehrer/alma.htm The reason I love obits is that it shows a continuity of place. I am reminded forceably of this because in finding the webcam of my home town from the newspaper, I clicked on the obits to see if there was anyone in there I knew. That's how I found the obit of my very first ever boss. Sigh. He was a funny sweet guy. Trees gotta grow, leaves gotta fall but the family trees always look barer when folks we know fall to earth and then fly to Heaven.
